A remote desktop for your Mac — down to a single app.
Check an AI agent, drive a headless Mac mini, grab a file, stream a live Simulator or use the whole desktop from iPhone, iPad, Android or another Mac. Native viewers. Direct encrypted sessions. No MacReacher relay.
Reach the job, not just the desktop
MacReacher is for your own always-on Mac: the agent still working, the mini with no monitor, and the file or app you need right now.
Check, approve and unstick
Read a terminal, answer a prompt, restart a failed run and inspect the result without staying chained to the desk.
See remote workflows →A screen shaped for this device
Fit a virtual display to the viewer, keep the host awake while sharing and return after login without a dummy plug.
Headless setup →Skip the tiny desktop
Launch a Mac app into a focused stream, or browse and download a host file without navigating the whole screen.
Explore focused access →Tap a feature. Watch it work.
The touches that make MacReacher feel native — pick one and see it on the device.
Stream one app. Get a real native window.
Stream just one Mac app instead of the whole desktop. On a Mac client it opens in a true macOS window that hugs the app exactly — zero letterbox, a slim glass toolbar never wider than the app, proportional resize from any corner. On iPhone and iPad it simply fills the screen. Either way it feels installed, not streamed.
- Zero letterbox — the window wraps the streamed app pixel-for-pixel
- Liquid-glass toolbar — never wider than the app, with native macOS chrome
- Proportional resize — drag any corner and the app scales with the window
- On the Mac client the Dock & ⌘-Tab icon become the streamed app; Android's Recents card shows it too
- In-app switcher to swap apps + window-cycle for multi-window apps
- Works on iPhone, iPad, Mac and Android — full-screen on mobile, windowed on Mac
The custom remote app switcher
Your Mac's whole app list, one tap away on your phone. Jump between running apps and launch a Mac app that isn't open yet — from across the room or across your private network.
- Active & All tabs — see what's running, or browse everything
- Instant search to find any app in a keystroke
- Launch apps that aren't open — not just switch between them
- Pairs perfectly with single-app mode to stream exactly what you need
Your dev machine, in your pocket
MacReacher is built for developers coding on the go — and it was built this way, remotely, with AI. Kick off an agent or a build on your Mac, then stream the running app, or a whole simulator, straight to your phone. Test iOS and Android apps live with no dev build, no TestFlight, no provisioning.
-
Stream a live simulator
Run your app in the iOS or Android simulator on your Mac and drive it from your phone — no dev build, no TestFlight, no cable.
-
Made for AI-assisted coding
Fire off an AI agent or a long build on your Mac, leave your desk, and babysit it from your pocket — read the terminal, approve a prompt, nudge a stuck run, then check the result in the sim. Your Mac keeps working while you don't.
-
Dev-first, and dogfooded
MacReacher itself was built remotely, on the go — the workflow is the product. Ready for how software gets made in 2026 and beyond.
Control that feels like you're really there
MacReacher is engineered for the hand, not the help-desk. Real cursor physics, a keypad you build yourself, and a session that's honest with you.
Precise control from glass
Use a relative trackpad cursor, two-finger scroll, long-press drag and pointer-centred pinch-to-zoom. Or switch to direct touch mode and tap exactly where you point.
Build-your-own keypad
Drag, reorder and replace shortcut keys. Keep Copy, Paste, Esc and the arrow cluster — or wire up your own. Your most-used keys, exactly where your thumb wants them.
Hear your Mac, wherever you are
Play the Mac's captured system audio on the viewer when you need it — useful for a simulator's sound effects, a presentation or media playback.
Two-way clipboard sync
On the Mac client, copy on one machine and paste on the other — both directions, over the same encrypted channel. No emailing yourself snippets.
Smooth on weak Wi-Fi
Hardware-accelerated H.264 with a real GOP, plus adaptive bitrate that eases off when the network dips and snaps back when it recovers.
Multi-monitor, sorted
Every viewer gets a display picker — hop between screens mid-session, and clicks land on the screen you're watching. Or tap Fit to This Device and the host spins up a virtual display shaped exactly like the screen in your hand. Headless Mac mini heaven.
Every mouse button counts
Right-click, middle-click and drag pass through from the Mac client, so orbiting a model in Blender or CAD works from the other room. Scroll input follows the remote view.
Talk, type and shortcut
On mobile, open the device keyboard and use its microphone to dictate into the Mac app. The custom keypad keeps modifiers close; on Mac, keyboard grab sends shortcuts to the host and ⌥Tab flips between its apps.
It tells you why a session ended
No silent black screens. If a connection drops, MacReacher distinguishes a network error, the host stopping and an interrupted input channel, so you know what to do next.
Stays connected
The host can block idle system sleep while sharing is on. Background reconnect recovers real drops, zoom & pan persist, and live FPS, bitrate and resolution are one tap away.
Little touches that make it feel effortless
Setup that just works wherever you are, your Mac's files in your pocket, and controls built for a touchscreen — not a mouse bolted onto glass.
One saved host. Home and away.
Give a host its local network address and its Tailscale name once. Every time you connect, MacReacher races the fast LAN path first and quietly falls back to the remote one if you've left the house — so the same single tap just works, wherever you are.
- LAN-first — the fastest, lowest-latency path when you're home
- Automatic fallback to Tailscale when you're away — no re-typing addresses
- Re-checks the best route on every reconnect as you move between networks
- A chip shows exactly which route is live — LAN or Tailscale
Your Mac's files, in your hand
When the Mac owner enables file access, a real native file browser lives right inside the session. Jump to Home, Desktop, Documents, Downloads or Applications, search a folder, then copy a file straight to your device — no cloud, no AirDrop, no second app. It rides the very same encrypted connection that streams your screen.
- Browse Home, Desktop, Documents, Downloads and Applications when enabled on the host
- Copy to This Device — then save to Files or share anywhere
- Open on the Mac, or Open With… a specific app, from your phone
- Same end-to-end encrypted channel — nothing new exposed to the network
Single-finger scroll, and a real trackpad
Flick through a long doc or web page with one finger — flip on Scroll mode and drags become scrolls, with taps disabled so nothing fires by accident. Prefer a pointer? Trackpad mode draws a precise cursor you move, tap and drag, with two-finger scroll and pinch-to-zoom up to 6×.
- Scroll mode — one-finger drag-to-scroll, zero accidental clicks
- Trackpad mode — a visible precision cursor with tap, drag & right-click
- Pinch-zoom to 6× with the cursor auto-following so you never lose it
- Or Direct mode — touch exactly where you want on the remote screen
Your screen is ciphertext the instant it leaves the Mac
MacReacher isn't private as a setting — it's private by architecture. Sessions run directly between your own devices, so your screen, keystrokes and files never touch our servers. Here's the specific, honest version:
Session content encrypted
After a signed X25519 handshake, AES-256-GCM protects video, input, credentials, files, clipboard and audio, with replay protection in both directions.
Host identity pinned
On first connect, compare the Mac's Ed25519 fingerprint and explicitly approve it. If the host's key ever changes, MacReacher refuses to send your credentials.
Your real macOS login
The only way in is the Mac's own account password, verified by macOS itself via OpenDirectory. No app password, no back door, no master key.
Brute force, locked out
Repeated failed sign-ins trigger a lockout with exponential backoff — every wrong guess makes the next one slower.
Never touches our servers
Your session travels directly between your devices, over your LAN or your own Tailscale link. There's no relay to trust, because there isn't one.
No account, no telemetry
The apps need no sign-up and send no analytics. The only routine call home is a quick licence check on the host — never your screen.
Works on your network out of the box. Pairs with your VPN for everywhere else.
MacReacher isn't a VPN — it's the remote desktop built for how you actually work. On your LAN it's zero-config; beyond it, it slots straight into Tailscale or the VPN you already run. Your session stays device-to-device either way.
Nearby hosts are easy to add
Open Add Host and Bonjour discovery lists MacReacher hosts on your local network. Pick one instead of typing its address manually.
Direct over your LAN
On the same Wi-Fi it connects straight to your Mac: low latency, no port-forwarding and no third-party relay in the remote session.
Bring your own Tailscale or VPN
Add your Mac to your own free Tailscale network in about two minutes — or use the VPN you already have. A private, encrypted route that keeps the session between your devices.
Three steps and you're in
Install the host
Put MacReacher on the Mac you want to reach and grant Screen Recording & Accessibility once.
Open a viewer
Use Add Host to choose a nearby discovered Mac, or enter its saved LAN and Tailscale routes for home and away.
Verify and sign in
The viewer pauses on first connection so you can compare the Mac's Ed25519 fingerprint, then stores it only after you approve. Your macOS credentials are sent only after that check; saved credentials remain in the device's protected credential store.
